Kampala, Uganda | April 8, 2025 — The Mandera Climate Resilience Institute, with support from the Africa Research and Impact Network (ARIN), hosted a virtual public lecture titled “Understanding Carbon Market Finance – Unlocking Opportunities for Africa’s Climate Resilience.” The event drew over 97 participants from across the continent.

Guest speaker Kimberly Myers from The Nature Conservancy and host Nuwahereza Nelson of the Mandera Institute led discussions on how carbon markets can fund local climate resilience efforts. The lecture covered key concepts, including Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, and showcased real-world African carbon projects.

Participants gained practical insights on accessing climate finance and developing carbon projects. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session.
